Monday: We went over how to write number in scientific notation. Then students did CC3: Ch 8: 39, 42, 43, 79, 81, 82. Students who did not finish in class, need to do so at home.
Tuesday: We went over how to multiply and divide numbers in scientific notation. We practiced on white boards, then we started how to add and subtract numbers in scientific notation.
Wednesday: We took brief notes on adding numbers in scientific notation. We practiced operations with numbers in scientific notation on a slides activity. Students who did not finish in class, need to do so at home.
Thursday: We went over how to categorize numbers in the real number system and made a graphic organizer.
Friday: We took a mini quiz on operations in scientific notation, then learned how to approximate square roots to the nearest tenth.
Math 8
Monday: We finished 7.3.1: 89. We then did Rates of Change Slides Activity.
Tuesday: Students worked on the Two-Way Tables activity, the Rate of Change Activity, and made sure they had all the classwork for this chapter.
Wednesday: Students too a practice test. The could correct their wrong answers. They then finished the classwork from this week, and checked that their classwork from Ch 7 was complete before grading it tomorrow. Early finishers had time to work on missing and incomplete homework.
Thursday: We graded classwork. Then students had time to complete the study guide.
Friday: Ch 7 Test
